If you like charming old world in a rustic, comfy setting, this is the place for you.   My cabin is much loved and has a real "old world" feel.  If your looking for a 5 star experience then Sierra Cozy Cabin is not for you.  It's charm is in the rustic original experience.   Well, as original as one can be with adding electricity and plumbing.

The Sierra City Cozy Cabin sits on ½ an acre, and is located on a mountain-side directly below the beautiful Sierra Buttes in Sierra City on Butte Avenue (or "Alley" on MapQuest) off of Butte Street. The view from the property is unlike any in Sierra City, and it has plenty of room for parking and outdoor furniture to sit back and watch the world go by. There are fresh herbs, apple tree, berries and even grapes.

Sierra City is the gateway to the Lakes Basin. Highway 49 is plowed in the winter, is always open, and it is quiet after the sun goes down, unless the river and the birds are considered noise. Sierra City sponsors Oktoberfest, has a Memorial Day all around town yard sale, and the community host events throughout the summer.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway, spring and fall are absolutely beautiful. The colors in the fall are breathtaking and the town is beginning to quiet down after a long busy summer.

Location: Sierra City lies along the North Yuba River at about 4,500 feet in the shadow of the 9,000 foot Sierra Buttes. Its proximity to the Lakes Basin (45 alpine lakes within 15 miles) and Yuba Pass (7,250 feet) make it a favorite for outdoor enthusiasts wanting to get away. Fishing, hiking, swimming and mountain biking (~12 miles from infamous “Downieville Downhill”) are all very popular in the summer. Sierra City is 5 miles from Bassetts. Directly behind the cabin is a trail up to the Sierra Buttes, which can be hiked, biked, quad or snowmobiled up, with plenty of trails going off to other locations.

Cozy Cabin History:
The Sierra City Cozy Cabin was built sometime between 1870 -1890 and has kept its original charm. The original documents were destroyed in a fire in the late 1800's. There have been modern updates such as kitchen facilities and bath facilities. It has been kept as original as possible and has a beautiful large deck on the front that overlooks the town of Sierra City and the mountains. Thanks for your interest and I look forward to hearing from you.
